Oh What A Night! I can now say I have performed live with Buster Keaton and dived into Metropolis. When Richard Bower first approached me to ask if I was interested in a live performance featuring improvised piano to a silent film I was intrigued and excited all at the same time. Having Jamie Fyffe willing to come onboard with percussive sound effects to "One Week" and a full blown drum groove for Metropolis made it even more brilliant. I did a little research, but really just so I had some jotted down ideas in case I needed them on the night. The comedy was tough and a longer movie, but when I listened back to the recording the next day, it s0unded so cool. My only request was the chance to add an excerpt from the amazing film Metropolis. So brilliant. So now I need someone to ask me if we'd like to do the whole film, it was so phenomenal. Lang really uses rhythm so much during the movie, it's a joy to add music.
To make a perfect evening even perfecter, we also played two sets of Michelle Saacks Trio fun. Our next trio outing is at Hotel Tresanton for New Year's. What a thrill to play with such lovely musicians, I am truly blessed. Thank You Jamie Fyffe and Nathan Fitzgerald.
I think it may have been one of the loveliest Halloween's ever, playing and singing bits at the Star and Garter on Friday night. What a lovely crowd of people, stupendous staff, amazing ambiance. Best moment was the whole room snapping to The Addams Family. You guys all ROCK. XXXX
